Full and half sole replacement in leather, rubber and Vibram for dress shoes, boots and work footwear.
A sole is a wear item. The upper of a well-made shoe can outlast four or five soles, which is exactly why resoling exists — you are replacing the consumable part and keeping the leather that has already molded to your foot.
What we do
We strip the old sole, inspect the welt and insole beneath it, replace cork filler where it has compressed or crumbled, and stitch or cement the new sole depending on construction. Edges are trimmed, sanded, dyed and burnished by hand so the finish matches the original profile rather than looking like a patch.
Choosing your soling material
Leather breathes and looks correct on dress shoes but is slick on wet concrete. Rubber and Vibram give traction and last longer in Colorado slush. Many customers choose a leather sole with a thin rubber topy for the best of both.
When resoling isn't possible
Injection-molded and fully cemented athletic soles generally cannot be replaced cleanly. We'll tell you at the counter rather than after you've paid.
