Stitching & Seam Repair
Blown seams, torn uppers and split welts machine- and hand-stitched with matched thread.
A split seam is a structural problem, and left alone it spreads across the panel until the shoe can't be saved.
Machine and hand work
Straight runs go on the patcher with bonded nylon thread. Curved welts, moccasin toes and decorative saddle stitching are done by hand with an awl so the needle follows the original holes rather than perforating fresh ones.
Reinforcement
Where the leather around the seam has gone thin, we back it with a hidden leather or textile patch before stitching so the new thread has something solid to pull against.
